Ethical Policy

It is extremely crucial that all research must have been carried out within an appropriate ethical framework. The editorial board of JBSM will preserve the published ethics and will monitor and safeguard them. If there is suspicion that work has not taken place within an appropriate ethical framework, Editors will follow the Misconduct policy and may reject the manuscript, and/or contact the author(s)' institution or ethics committee. On rare occasions, if the Editor has serious concerns about the ethics of a study, the manuscript may be rejected on ethical grounds, even if approval from an ethics committee has been obtained. If the authors want to retract the article, the editorial should be informed of their decision. The papers/research articles are accepted by the editor on intellectual and ethical standards. The Editorial Office will also strictly monitor plagiarism and fraudulent data.

Confidentiality

Journal of Biological Sciences and Medicine keeps all details about a submitted manuscript confidential and does not comment to any outside organization about manuscripts that are either under consideration or that have been rejected. After a manuscript is submitted, correspondence with Journal of Biological Sciences and Medicine, referees' reports and other confidential material, regardless of whether or not the submission is eventually published, must not be posted on any website or otherwise publicized without prior permission. The Editorial Board Members themselves are not allowed to discuss manuscripts with third parties or to reveal information about correspondence and other interactions with authors and referees. Referees of manuscripts submitted to Journal of Biological Sciences and Medicine undertake in advance to maintain confidentiality of manuscripts and any associated supplementary data.

Initial manuscript evaluation

The Editor first evaluates all manuscripts. It is rare, but it is entirely feasible for an exceptional manuscript to be accepted at this stage. Those rejected at this stage are insufficiently original, have serious scientific flaws, have poor grammar or English language, or are outside the aims and scope of the journal. Those that meet the minimum criteria are passed on to at least 2 experts for review.

Peer Review Process

The submitted manuscripts are peer reviewed by the editors and reviewers. The decisions on acceptance, revision, or rejection are completed within one month (Max.) of submission. JBSM employs a single-blind review process. While the identity of the author is available to the reviewer, the identities of the reviewers are not available to the author.

Reviewer policy

Reviewers are matched to the paper according to their expertise. Our database is constantly being updated. Reviewer assess the quality of research work mentioned in manuscript at every level and submit their decision and comments/ recommendations on manuscript to the editor through our online Manuscript Peer Review System. Final  recommendation is based on below given options;

Reviewers are not expected to correct or copyedit manuscripts. Language correction is not part of the peer review process. Reviewers advise the editor, who is responsible for the final decision to accept or reject the article.

Final report

A final decision to accept or reject the manuscript will be sent to the author along with any recommendations made by the reviewers, and may include verbatim comments by the reviewers.
